Seriously, another boy group? This time it’s Serious!

Seriously, another group? Wait, hold on a sec - if you were going to lump them with the rest of the rookies that have debuted this year, take em out again because Seriously the band (yes, that's their name) is anything but your typical set of KPOP idols. In fact, these guys stand out because they're based in the States and write their own music. That's right, we're taking a quick breather from the homeland and the KPOP world to hone in on a talented Asian-American band instead!

Meet Chris, Joshua, Nathan and Philip, the faces behind this indie rock quartet. Hailing from Diamond Bar, California, the four began playing together at their local Asian church to eventually create the band as we know it today. Of course, that's only the beginning - the foursome joined Kollaboration 2006 and promptly bagged the hearts of many new fans plus the grand prize, which hooking the boys up with Chaos Theory Music, an indie label that launched their first music video, "Irony." Check the MV out, it's kind of really adorable:

You've gotta love how Seriously maintains an eclectic style - they take inspiration from Asian pop music, mix it with American rock and throw in some melancholy European pop feel... so it's kind of like taking your favorite KPOP artist's beats, spicing it up with some rock & roll, then sugar-coating it with Coldplay-esque brit-pop for some pretty awesome ear candy.

Keep an eye out for these guys on allkpop because we're bringing you an exclusive continuous series on the fab four! With a group so seriously awesome, they're going nowhere but up!

SHU-I Debuts on Music Bank

Having released their first single last week, the newest boy group on the block, SHU-I makes their television debut, with their performance of their title song, Bomb Bomb Bomb on the 18th September episode of Music Bank.

With a dearth of boy groups and saturation of girl groups in the scene, the entry of SHU-I is a breath of fresh air. But can they capture a slice of the market with their tune? Check it out and decide.

NS Yoon Ji Makes Her Debut + Music Video

Known as Kara's member, Kang Jiyoung's cousin, 21-year old NS Yoon Ji made her official debut on 24th September, with the release of her MV for her title song, "Headache". She also made her debut stage performance on Mnet's M! Countdown tonight.

Bravely debuting as a solo singer, NS (New Star) Yoon Ji will definitely need a lot of luck to stand out from the horde of girl groups and returning male singers. The song does not seem that great although the dancing is pretty decent.

What do you think?

“You’re Beautiful” Press Conference and Longer Teaser Released

With October 7th quickly approaching, the cast and crew of the upcoming SBS drama, You're Beautiful, are busy with promotions. The cast came together for a press conference today and with all of them standing side by side for photos, you can tell the drama will serve some major eye candy for viewers. At first I was a bit unsure about the potential success of the drama due to the redundant storyline but after watching footage from the drama's mini-concert held on the 20th, I have to take that statement back. The use of the drama's fictional band as the focal point in promoting the drama appears to be stirring up a lot of interest.

SBS has also released a longer teaser revealing some skinship, parodies, and a whole lot of closeups. Looks like the boys of F4 have some competition (well, if you count Park Shin Hye). "You're Beautiful" will air on Thursday, October 7th at 9:55 PM Korean Time.

Check out the teaser and eye candy below:

T-ara and Supernova’s “TTL” debut stage on M! Countdown

The project group of T-ara and Supernova looks to be a winner already, with their song TTL (Time to Love) receiving lots of love from fans and neutrals, and raking in more than 110,000 views of it's MV since its release.

The project group consisting of Soyeon, Eunjung, Hyomin and Jiyeon from T-ara and Jihyuk, Kwangsu and Gunil from Supernova is a win-win situation for both groups. T-ara is coming off from a moderately successful run with their Lies debut single while Supernova is making a return to the Kpop scene after an absence of 2 years. Check out their stylish performance.

They do have a catchy dance track, T.T Dance which they had performed tonight for their debut stage on M! Countdown. But is it enough?

Super Junior-M Releases “Super Girl” MV

That's right, we've got Super Junior-M's "Super Girl" music video for you, right off the press! After confirming their comeback, and then teasing fans with MV snippets & photos, the full MV has been released.

This seven-man subset of Super Junior has been pretty inactive since ending their promotions for their Me album, and they're making it up double with this comeback. The international group is aiming high and spreading out - just now, the "Super Girl" MV was released simultaneously in Korea, China, Taiwan and Taiwan via their official homepage.

SM Entertainment stated that the music video presents a "house party" concept - not the type with alcohol and illegal acts, but a disco ball, balloons and a certain, very pretty Super Girl by the name of Jessica. (She's in this group called SNSD, you might've heard of them before?) She charms her way into the heart of the lead, Hankyung.

This music video shows a maturation from Super Junior-M's past concepts to a newer, upgraded image. Filming was completed just a few weeks ago in GyeongGiDo by a production team led by Cho Soo Hyun, the man behind the music videos of Mirotic (DBSK), Gee (SNSD) and It's You (Super Junior). With such a beastly track record, you can't go wrong, and indeed, this is a MV that doesn't fail to impress. As for the song itself, Super Girl's got an electronic, retro feel with a touch of European house beats, kind of like "Sorry Sorry" by SJ-M's main group. Seeing how popular that was, I think these boys have a good shot at success rivaling their predecessors.

Without further ado, here's the full MV - fans & nonfans, feast your eyes & ears on Super Junior-M's latest hit complete with Chinese subtitles!

Super Junior’s Yesung Releases a CCM Song

Super Junior’s Yesung has done a collaboration with Yurisangja's Lee Sejun to release a CCM (Contemporary Christian music)
song; this has been pretty shocking news to netizens, since idol group members seldom go into CCM.

Yesung and Lee Sejun are two of many CCM artists collaborating together to release a project album called “July Project,” which will be released on October 5th; their contribution to this album is called "세상에서 가장 귀한 이야기" ("The Most Precious Story in the World"), and has already been released online. You can listen to it here:

Yesung has said, “I had always wanted to try being a Christian Contemporary music artist. So when Lee Sejun-hyung asked me to work on this song with him, I agreed without any hesitation. I also told my record label company (SM Entertainment) that I really wanted to work on this project, and they gave me permission to do so. Of course, I will not be taking any of the profits that come from this album. And I don't want a project like this to be a one-time thing, either; I want to continue working on projects like this in the future.”

Yesung has also said, "People always think I'm happy because I'm in Super Junior - but in fact, there are many difficulties that I had to face because I am a member of Super Junior. When difficult things happen, I get the support of my family and friends, but they're not always with me. And even though I'm not as faithful as I'd like to be, I trust in God and God gives me strength to overcome my mistakes and struggles. Siwon, Eunhyuk, and Kyuhyun also are Christians. Siwon is the most faithful one among us. Somehow, Siwon goes to the church every Sunday - he even went when we were on tour in Japan which is amazing, since there aren't many churches in Japan."

The profits from "The July Project" will be donated an organization called “Save the Children” (an organization that works to better the lives of poor children) which will use the donations for a project called “Good Lunchbox Campaign," to provide lunch for children who cannot afford school lunch.

How heartwarming! It's not often when we see an idol group singer doing such selfless things for a good cause. Best wishes to Yesung and Lee Sejun, and I hope that many children will benefit from all the work that Yesung and Lee Sejun put into this lovely song.

Who’s the big nerd?

Who would've thought 2PM's heartthrob Taecyeon was actually a big nerd!

On the latest episode of KBS Sang Sang Plus, Taecyeon said:

"During my school years, I was a very quiet boy. All I did was study. With my thick glasses, I received no attention.

When I said I was going to tryout to be a singer, nobody believed me. I guess I could've just continued studying, but my mom said, it's better to live an interesting and fun life, than a boring life, and pushed me to tryout."

Jaebeom then stated:
"At first, Taecyeon was a horrible dancer. But now, a miracle has happened."

To which, Taecyeon jokingly replied:
"Most likely, I was chosen for my good looks."

On the episode, Jaebeom also revealed that he was a B-Boy in the states and showed off his impressive dance moves. In addition, Nichkhun revealed that he auditioned while he was training to become a professional badminton player.

The episode of Sang Sang Plus aired on September 1st, 2009.
